No. "Try it without an account" opens the whole app with two binders already in it: browse the catalog, mark cards, build a page. Nothing is saved to the cloud until you sign in, and when you do, the work you did in the demo comes with you.
A printing. One 1999 Charizard is one card but three printings (1st Edition Shadowless Holo, Shadowless Holo, Unlimited Holo), and Binder Boss tracks all three apart, each with its own slot, its own acquired date, its own everything. Modern sets work the same way for Alt Art, Full Art and Secret Rare.
It never picks a pocket. The camera reads the page you photographed and records what is in each slot. When you log a haul of new cards, it suggests the binder that is missing each one; you can change any suggestion, and the cards wait in that binder's unplaced pile until you put them in a pocket yourself.
